PlanetDDS provides a comprehensive suite of services: training (remote or in person), support, customer success and an implementation manager for your go live. They do a great job. And, in all cases, they need you, the dental group practice, to provide a team member that will work with them. For example, who on your team will lead this project internally in collaboration with the Denticon implementation manager? It’s your job to communicate internally with your team through any change management efforts, to set up your software once you’ve been trained, to create your own documented SOPs and generally to make sure everything runs smoothly. Since many times, dental group practice leadership is already stretched thin - you have the option to have Optimize Dental step in to provide this service for you.

Generally, it takes 4 months to take all offices live and this is structured as a flat monthly fee perhaps similar to what you would pay an experienced regional manager in total compensation. Post go live, we pivot to project-focused work (outlined above) and the fee drops significantly. This benefits you by avoiding hiring an FTE and allowing your existing operations team to stay focused on office performance. Considering cost, if you think you’ll save money by having one of your managers run this go live, keep in mind the opportunity cost of not focusing on filling the schedule, collecting past due balances, etc.

That depends on your internal resources. If you have a team member with the knowledge, experience and bandwidth to manage the go live in coordination with the Denticon team, then you may be all set. Then, past go live, you’ll also need to identify resources who will take the time to figure out the high value features so your group can actually get each one of these set up and rolled out effectively.
